Applying for a Grant

The Davis Foundation provides grants to tax-exempt entities classified under the Internal Revenue Code as:

• 501(c)(3) Organizations
• Other Publicly Supported Organizations [Section 509 (a)(1), (2), or (3)]

If your organization falls under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or is Publicly supported under Section 509 (a)(1), (2), or (3), and your grant request fits within the Foundation’s geographic emphasis and fields of interest, your organization is welcome to initiate the grant application process by completing the Contact Us form.

If your grant request aligns with the Foundation’s interest, your organization may be invited to submit a letter of inquire through our online portal. Applicants can expect to receive follow-up questions and/or a face-to-face meeting. We strive to learn as much as possible about your organization and grant request as the Davis Foundation values making long-lasting, impactful investments.

Application

If you are invited to apply, you will be asked to provide the following:

• Overview of the organization’s purpose and mission
• Detailed narrative of the project that you are requesting funding
• IRS Tax Exempt Determination Letter
• Most Recent Annual Report
• List of Directors and Officers
• Current Financial Statement
• Current Year Budget
• Most Recent IRS Form 990
• Project budget, and post project budget, if applicable
• Fundraising Plan
